The new breed of Tastemaker independent labels give us their views on what they
are looking for in an artist. Between unsigned acts and major labels are a set of niche independent labels that specialise in releasing first EPs of new and emerging acts and help create the awareness around the act which attracts the majors/bigger labels to sit up and take notice. These labels could be seen as the real eyes and ears of the Industry and the real A&Rs. City Showcase invites some of the important independent labels to give their opinions on why they do what they do and what they look for in an artist. Moderated by Seven Webster with panellists including Darren Sadler (Undergroove and Rock Sound), Guy Lowman (Fierce Panda), Julie Weir (Visible Noise) and Paul Fernandes (Broken Sound)

Line Up:

Guy Lowman

When taking part in City Showcase 2009, Guy was A&R at Fierce Panda records.
