Plastic Thumbs

ArtForm: CityShowcase Act/Composer

You wouldn't think a collaboration from two chaps living in very different corners of the Britain would work. One residing in the pebble dashed charm of North Wales, the other hailing from the anonymous streets of South London. But the bastard child of PLAY and BASTIC seems to hold up nicely. Plastic Thumbs pull all their influences from reggae, funk and the golden era of hip-hop, pulled together with the same focus, colliding the buzz and crackling energy of dancehall with rhyme splattered beats and gut-wrenching low-end bass lines.

Plastic Thumbs pull all their influences from reggae, funk and the golden era of hip-hop. The duo have spent the last few years playing festivals and clubs separately, alongside acts such as Scratch Perverts, Dj Nu-mark, DJ Derek, The Nextmen, Mr. Scruff and many more, but have now pulled together with the same focus, colliding the buzz and crackling energy of dancehall with rhyme splattered beats and gut-wrenching low-end bass lines.

Their mixtape “Two Too Many Digits” and "Just A Demo" were put together to showcase their eclectic sound. They have already received great praise from the Chrome Kids, “This is BIG, a filthy mix of big and bashie Filth-step to keep you amused”. White Folks Get Crunked also posted "PT’s blend Ragga, Dirty Electronic Beats and Bass perfectly....We love it.” "Just A Demo” is tight enough to be a full release, serving up some dope tracks" posted Heavy.com

PT's have already secured Upcoming gigs slingin’ alongside Jack Beats, Chase & Status, Skream, Caspa, Zinc, DJ Fresh and Toddla T.
