Gerad ‘Soundbwoy’ Logan has been in the music business from the age of 17 years. Music is a passion that was developed through his classical piano training from the age of 8 years. Soundbwoy matured and expanded to the trumpet, which was previously played by his father. It was at Newham College in Stratford, studying Music Technology, where he was given the name ‘Soundbwoy’ by his peers due to his passion, talent and skill for writing songs and producing beats; this was a defining moment in shaping his future career.

Soundbwoy began to take his career seriously and contacted producer Steve Campbell formerly of ‘Blacksmiths’ to assist and mentor him by encouraging his talent and widening his horizons; both musically and professionally.  Through this collaboration with Campbell, Soundbwoy worked on remixes for major pop artists such as Misteeq’s ‘One Night Stand’ and Atomic Kitten’s ‘Eternal Flame.’

Soundbwoy was then approached to co produce the B-side of Craig David’s ‘Whats your Flava’ by well known and accomplished producer and guitarist Fraser T Smith. (Unfortunately Soundbwoy was not given credit for his part in the single ‘4 x a lady’)

At the age of 18 years in 2001, Soundbwoy signed a 3-year contract with Warner Chapel Publishing that opened the doors to working with some of the top writers and producers in the industry, namely Brian Higgins (Girls Aloud, Sugababes) and Soulshock & Karling (Monica and Toni Braxton).  This also enabled him to work with Belgian superstar Natacha Atlas. However, the relationship with Warner Chapel Publishing did not live up to expectations, which convinced him to start his own company.

In 2003 ‘Soundbwoy Ent’ was founded and gave him complete creative control, therefore enabling him to write and produce with artists solely of his choice and focus on making music in the genre he was most passionate about creating in, RnB.  3 years later Soundbwoy with the help of his friends and Soundbwoy Ent team independently produced and distributed 5 singles namely ‘Dance 2 Dis’ and the biggest urban single of 2006 ’Never Wanna Say’ that was signed to Ministry of Sound and charted no.18 in the national chart.

Post the success of NWS, Soundbwoy continued to pursue his desire of developing local UK talent. In his pursuit he found and firmly established Young Nate (now known as Nate Young) independently with in the urban music scene via his strong singles, to name a few Mixed Messages featuring Chipmunk (the remix featuring Tinie Tempah), I wonder (the remix featuring Wretch32), Wine it Gurl featuring funky superstar Gracious Kay and 2009 release of his EP ‘A Piece of Me’. After 3 years of working together Soundbwoy and Young Nate decided to part ways early 2010.

Since parting ways Soundbwoy decided to take some time out from running the label and developing his own acts to gaining other work experiences away from music. However he still kept his hands in music producing and writing with Oritise (JLS), Griminal, Scorcher, Egypt, Ali Tenant, Maxsta, Babyblue, Nu Brand Flexx, Smiler, Cherri.V, Frisco and remixing for Liljon ft Tinchy Stryder and Dionne Bromfield ft Diggy….

With his distinctive style and creative vision, Gerad ‘Soundbwoy’ Logan still intends to be a leading Pioneer of UK styled urban music internationally in his Specialist genre R’n’B.
