Ben Osborne

ArtForm: Workshop Panellist, Event Host

"Whether penning features for DJ magazine, curating Noise of Art project or simply playing out, Ben Osborne likes to keep busy. Slipped Disco, his own night, has played a part in rescuing Sunday nights for everyone in need of somewhere to let their hair down…” – Joe Rudkin, Flavourpill, November 2007.

“Cutting Edge Electonica, rockin’ bleeps and Mutant Disco…” Time Out, February 2008

DJ, music producer, multi instrumentalist, writer and founder of Noise of Art, Ben Osborne is an established face on London’s electronic scene… although he’s often to be found in Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and other places either playing live, DJing, programming nights or writing about music.

In a diverse musical career, Ben presented one of the first, long running, dance music shows on Xfm and has hosted various terrestrial and online shows and made guest appearances on BBC Radio 1, BBC World Service and BBC Radio 4. He has released a handful of critically acclaimed 12”s under various names and has written extensively about music for national newspapers, magazines and websites and has published one book.

In 2006 he founded Noise of Art, a platform for music and visual art, and, among other things, began putting contemporary electronic music to films made over a hundred years ago. He has also recently started making music and commissioning other artist’s music for a new record label, Noise of Art Recordings, which launched in 2008 in partnership with the BFI.
