Adrienne Pierce

Likened to Mazzy Star and Rickie Lee Jones, the buzz on Adrienne Pierce continues to build. The Vancouver born singer/songwriter taps into a singular source to create music that has universal appeal. Her independently-produced debut, Small Fires, is a pop gem full of sublime songcraft and intense performances. - John Goodman, North Shore News

Two years after picking up a guitar and teaching herself to play, Adrienne found herself onstage at Lilith Fair. Years later, playing in a cafe in Vancouver, Adrienne was discovered by Avril Lavigne's manager and is now signed to Nettwerk Management.

After releasing her debut album Small Fires, Adrienne toured in support of it with two of her favorite artists. She toured Canada with Kinne Starr and toured extensively in the U.S. with Jane Siberry. Adrienne has also opened for Sondre Lerche, The Stereophonics, The Finn Brothers and many more. Adrienne continued her festival tour trend with SXSW and NXNE along with showcases at the Western Canadian Music Awards, New Music West and Canadian Music Week 2005. She was recently chosen as one of a handful of artists (Ron Sexsmith, Buck 65, Chantal Kraviazuk) to play a showcase at The Canadian Music Cafe for the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival. Adrienne has placed her songs in many television shows, (Chris Isaak Show, Just Cause, Cold Squad, Love/15, Edgemont etc.) most recently Veronica Mars and the ABC drama Grey's Anatomy. These recent placements were both for new songs which will be on her second release (spring of 2006).

Her first CD, Small Fires, was nominated for Best Independent Album for the Georgia Straight Reader's Choice Awards. The CD has been receiving great reviews at home and internationally. The video for 'Arizona' – the first single from "Small Fires" – is in rotation on Much More Music and is included on the Small Fires CD. It was shot in Death Valley, AZ by award-winning director William Morrison (Matthew Good Band).

Two new songs, 'To The Truth' and 'Steal Your Car,' were broadcast on CBC's ZeD TV – the archived videos of which can be viewed at the zed.cbc.ca website.
