Soho Flea Market returns to Dean Street, Soho, London, on Sunday 2nd June 2013 and organiser City Showcase will once again host the outdoor stage, one of the highlights of last year’s event. Performing live will be artists Lilygreen & Maguire, Robbie Boyd, Echotape, Lillian Todd-Jones, Caroline Harrison, Asya, Corey Fox-Fardell, Nikita, A Girl Called Ruth, Passport To Stockholm, , Battle of You, Tom Tyler and more, hosted by actor and comedian Peter Halpin in support of the charity Kids Company http://www.kidsco.org.uk/ who will be performing and presenting their own artist Eny.
Last year’s Soho Flea Market was a resounding success, attracting over ten thousand people to watch a line-up of high-quality breaking music and comedy acts, as well as enjoying the wide range of specifically-curated ‘creative market stalls’.
Between 12pm and 8pm, the historic length and breadth of Dean Street will be closed to traffic and
Soho Flea Market’s stallholders including artisans, artists, fashion designers, jewellery designers, and other creatives will exhibit and sell their works directly to the public.
Performers taking part on the stage include buzz band Echotape, young Brits school success Corey Fox-Fardell, acclaimed singer/songwriter Lillian Todd-Jones, breaking acts, Lilygreen & Maquire, Caroline Harrison, Battle Of You and Tom Tyler, and hot A&R act A Girl Called Ruth.
The event will be opened by Fawn James of Soho Estates (granddaughter of Soho legend Paul Raymond), together with celebrity stallholder Caggie Dunlop, of Channel 4’s Made In Chelsea, and comedy host Peter Halpin. Bedford-born stage and screen actor Peter Halpin got his first acting break in 2006, with a growing resume of film, TV drama and commercials. He is currently appearing in TV internet comedy series 3Some on Blip TV and has a burgeoning stand-up career.
City Showcase is a not-for-profit year round festival of new music, responsible for helping break some of the best names into the industry since 2003. The City Showcase festival hosts over 200 new musicians performing in Central London, covering a range of musical genres. Artists that have previously taken part include Amy Winehouse, Keane, Laura Marling, Gabriella Cilmi, N-Dubz, Newton Faulkner, Ray LaMontagne, Razorlight, Hot Chip, Scouting For Girls, Gabrielle Aplin, and Seth Lakeman.
Flaunting the spirit of fun and creative innovation, Soho Flea Market promises to be a highly entertaining day out with 8 hours of entertainment, shopping, and eating in a brilliantly iconic location.
