- Article Post Date: Friday 29.11.2013
Open for breakfast at 7am on Sunday, Cafe Route is perfectly placed to look after Dalston Christmas Market shoppers all day.
After breakfast they are putting on a special Christmas menu for the market including delicious Mulled wine, slow cooked pulled lamb in a bun and special minced pies. We would highly recommend that you pop in.
Route Dalston Junction opened in March 2013 as a café, deli & bistro situated in the newly developed Dalston Square. Open every day, the cafe provides a refreshingly versatile and functional approach to food; offering a range of breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as operating as a deli & bakery. The variety on offer is both familiar and well travelled, reflecting the passion and mindfulness that went into selecting and sourcing goods, that yet is still committed to being accessible and fair. Drawing inspiration from both the Middle East and Mediterranean, Route aims to stand out by accessing a wealth of ingredients and making food that is simple and healthy, but still exciting & tasty.

Started by husband and wife team, Murat & Melek, and their long time school friend Mehmet; Route is run as a true family business. They all share a passion for food and building a sincere and honest relationship with locals. Having all grown up in Hackney and coming from Middle Eastern & Mediterranean backgrounds, they have been heavily influenced by the cultural diversity of their surroundings and the wealth of colour and ideas that it brings. They have also been excited to witness the new dynamic momentum with which the area is growing, and have been inspired to create a space that is conscious of and responsive to its surroundings.
