Chinese Moon Festival 2014
Sunday 07.09.2014 17:00
With an outdoor stage in Gerrard Street W1 and acts including Sophie Morgan and Louis Centioni, the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival is coming to London’s Chinatown on Sunday 7th September – with food stalls, lion dancers, an entertainment stage and a host of other activities.
The traditional Festival, which is celebrated across many parts of Asia, is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar or Chinese calendar when the moon is at its fullest and dates back almost 3,000 years.
Chinatown’s Moon Festival is free to the public with entertainment set to begin at 1pm. As well as the customary delicious Moon Cakes, some of Chinatown’s best restaurants will also be opening food stalls to give visitors the chance to taste the diverse cuisine of London’s Chinatown.
The stage on Gerrard Street will form the focal point of activity as well as the Horse & Dolphin Yard just off Macclesfield Street.
Come along from 1pm on Sunday 7th September to join in the celebrations!
This is one of the biggest colorful events of the year for Chinatown.
